Thursdays scenario set up perfectly for Cheyenne Mountain.

The defending Class 4A state champions were hosting upstart Castle View with the 4A Metro League title on the line.

But the Indians had no answer for Tim Koons, whose comp l e t e - g a m e effort in a 9-4 win denied Cheyenne Mountain its second straight league title.

Koons gave up only two earned runs on five hits while striking out nine.

I just tried to get ahead of the batters and keep them guessing, said Koons, who used his curveball effectively all game. Having my defense Replica watches behind me, I know that if I make pitches they will back me up.

The Sabercats (14-2, 12-1) took a quick lead, scoring four off starter Brett Helton in the first inning. And Cheyenne Mountain (14- 5, 10-3) failed to muster a charge against Koons.

We just couldnt hit the ball today -- it was a bad day at the plate, said Nolan Johnson, who provided half of the Indians output with Replica watches a tworun homer in the second. But we need to come out with our heads up in the playoffs and not let this affect us.

Castle View won its first league title in school history -- one that took only four years to achieve.

We have been solid all year long, and Tim has been our center point, coach Shawn Wyss said.

While the Sabercats can look forward to a solid seed in next weeks districts, the loss potentially could drop the Indians to third in the 4A Metro behind Widefield, which has one game remaining against Woodland Park.

Getting down 4-0 off the bat hurt us, and Koons is one of the best pitchers weve faced, Cheyenne Mountain coach Mark Swope said. But there werent a lot of people expecting us to do much this season, and Im proud of the regular season these guys have had.

FOR more than three centuries, they have been a proud force whose name epitomises bravery, resourcefulness and the best of the British fighting spirit.

The Royal Marines, as much a part of Plymouth as the Hoe, are famed throughout the world for their professionalism, toughness and ability to operate in a huge range of conditions in theatres of conflict around the world. They have been inextricably linked with the Royal Navy since 1755, and proved their effectiveness and Prada Purse worth on battlefields in every corner of the globe. So it is little wonder that reports claiming this illustrious body of fighting men could be handed over to control of the Army and -- worse still in the eyes of the Green Berets -- be merged with the Paras have stirred up a storm of protest.

To anyone who has connections with the Brigade, or simply those with a sense of Britain's rich military history and heritage, such a move is unthinkable. Indeed, one Royal Marines officer at Stonehouse Barracks encapsulated the feelings of many when he told us: "We've heard the rumours and we think it is laughable." We agree. But more than that, we believe that this proposal must be ditched immediately. Whatever military cutbacks and savings are in the offing, the Royal Marines' independence Replica Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Watches and integrity must never be compromised.

They have never failed the nation -- we must not fail them now.

Our marriage it's over

POP cheat Ronan Keating's devastated wife Yvonne has told him: "Our marriage is over."

Shocked model Yvonne, 36, has realised that damning texts she found on a secret mobile phone showed his affair with dancer Francine Cornell was much more than just a passing dalliance.

It convinced her to end their 12-year marriage, despite desperate pleas Burberry scarf from Ronan for another chance.

The People can reveal that Yvonne discovered the phone in the rear glove compartment of the Boyzone singer's Range Rover last week.

She booted Ronan, 33, out of their Dublin home. He faces giving her more half of his pounds 12million fortune in what is certain to be a highprofile divorce case.

Ronan has cancelled all his work engagements for the next month in the hope of spending time with Yvonne and their children Jack, 11, Marie, nine, and Ali, four, in a bid to make amends.

But shattered Yvonne emerged from the house yesterday minus her wedding ring.

A pal told how she ordered Ronan out of her life - for good.

She told him: "The door is shut. Our marriage was built on trust and you've betrayed me. I can't see that we can ever work this out. What you have done is unforgivable. End of story.

"Get your stuff and get out. I thought we had everything and you have destroyed it. There is no going back now, believe me.

"I have kept this family together for years, I thought I could trust you but clearly not. I can't believe you have done this to me. You have broken our marriage and it is beyond fixing."

But Ronan, who appeared on the SkyDance festival in Zurich on Friday, still believes he can win his wife back.

Before going on the show, he told pals he felt "stressed and worn out".

And he confessed to them that having to be on TV during the marriage crisis was the hardest thing he has had to do.

He plans to stay in Switzerland for a few days to give Yvonne some space before flying back to Dublin early this week.

He was due to take part in a Socceraid charity football match at Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium in two weeks but has told organisers he will not be there. Ronan, who shot to fame aged 16 with the chart-topping Irish boyband, told a pal: "I will do everything in my power to get Yvonne back. I am on my knees.

"I can't believe I have done this to my family and I am going to do everything I can to make it up to them.

"I wouldn't be able to bear it if my marriage ended in divorce. I feel like a broken man. I want my family back. Yvonne deserves better than what I've done to her, so I'm going to show her I do love her."

Leeds-born dancer Francine, 26, had sent the Boyzone singer a series of explicit text messages.

But The People can reveal they were not of a sexual nature. They were more intimate and loving - and that left Yvonne feeling even more betrayed.

She also discovered that the affair went on for months while Ronan was on a tour with Boyzone which began in June 2009.

A source close the couple, who first met when they were teenagers, revealed: "The text messages weren't dirty Other articles:

County wants its say on slots

Lancaster County commissioners today are expected to officially weigh in on a proposal to put a slot-machine parlor in the city. They are expected to vote at their weekly meeting on a proposal to have interim county solicitor Howard Kelin seek legal standing for the county on a petition regarding the slots parlor that will be brought before Lancaster City Zoning Hearing Board Monday. The $150 million parlor, which is being proposed for the Bulova Technologies building, North Queen and East Orange streets, by Manheim Township attorneys Jerome Finefrock and Jim Nettleton Jr., would house up to 5,000 slot machines. Project leaders are scheduled to go before the city zoners at Bally Replica 8 p.m. at Southern Market Center to seek a special exception needed to operate the slot machines. At that meeting, anyone who owns or has an interest in property near the proposed slots parlor can seek legal standing in the case, according to city zoning officer Walt Siderio. Typically, Siderio said, the city requires people seeking standing in zoning cases to own or have an interest in property within 400 feet of the property that's being brought before the board. With the slots parlor, Siderio said, the board is considering expanding that distance, although a final decision has not yet been made. People who are granted standing in zoning cases have the right to ask questions of the applicants during proceedings before the board, Siderio said. They also have the right to appeal in Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas any decision made by the board. Because the county owns the courthouse on North Duke Street and the former Armstrong building on North Queen Street, Kelin said, the commissioners would qualify for legal standing in the case.

"They're both close enough to the (Bulova building) that they believe they are entitled to standing in this matter," he said. Chloe Handbags Kelin said he has not yet been given any direction on what the county's concerns are regarding the proposed slots parlor. Commissioners Dick Shellenberger and Pete Shaub both said Kelin's possible appointment and any official position the county might have on the proposed slots parlor would Clip on charms be discussed at today's meeting. They declined to discuss it Tuesday night. But both commissioners have publicly stated they believe the proposed slots parlor is not a good fit in Lancaster County.

"That isn't Lancaster County," Shellenberger said Dec. 14.

"I would not want to see a casino come to Lancaster." Shaub was quoted the same day saying, "I do not think it is a good economic development project and do not think it represents the family values that we all hold dear here in Lancaster County." Democratic Commissioner Molly Henderson said, "My initial reaction is that it's quite a departure from traditional Lancaster County venues." On Tuesday night, Henderson said she had not yet formed an opinion on the proposal. Siderio said he expects "a large contingent to apply" for legal standing on Jan. 9.
